training and birthday

wtf... i got my osce exam timetable yesterday and it appeared that i'm in the first batch of students going into the exam room.... 7.55am.. that's super early.. considering my other 4 exams are all in the evening time... anyway. i hope i can wake up at the right time on that day, make it a good start as a whole.. haha... someone in the discussion board mentioned that we will have to get quarantined af the exam too.. don't know if it's true.. if we really have to get quarantined, i guess i'll be the first one to protest.. NO NO NO! the oral exam only took 1 hour, so i will finish at around 9am... and need to get quarantined until 3pm? no way! BUT, if they provide us food, coffee, internet etc during the quarantine.. haha, i don't mind then hahahaha.

i only get about 4 hours of sleep yesterday.. so when i woke up this morning, i can still feel the sleepiness and tiredness... my muscle is still soring, perhaps due to the 'excessive' muscle strecthing yesterday.. i don't know... i forced myself to study for a while.. and drank a cup of milo before heading to hk ward for training, hoping it can provide me energy so that i wouldn't faint in the middle of training.. and it works! haha that's why i love milo very much.. hmm... i joined the women's training.. it was a pretty good training.. and i guess because all the girls from different levels come and train togeher, so.. no pressure.. girls can understand girls well... haha i don't mean i didn't enjoy our normal usyd kendo training at all.. just this time women's training.. is more relaxing.. slow and smooth~~ as usual, we had the jigeiko session at the last 20 minutes i think... i played a few girls.. and all gave me some very useful feedback.. i realise that when i jigeiko with people, we always stop and talk... because i played badly and needed advice on correcting my cuts etc.. haha. we are not supposed to talk during jigeiko, are we?

still, stamina is an issue. i played a girl from our club who i always play with.. she is very powerful and cut cut cut non stop, never give me a chance to stop and relax... i block block block but sometimes i missed and i lose the point. haha. i think that's a good way to play kendo, you cut all the time, don't give chance to your opponent to make cut, and eventually you will score point from your random cuts. haha. but this also use up energy very quickly.. you do that in one of the jigeiko, and you do not have much energy to play at the next.. unless you have very fast metabolism and mitochondria work very efficiently.. if not.. no point to play only once and stop, then you don't get the chance to learn more... haha..

miss lo told me.... must think of a few ways to counter attack after you lose points.. not stop moving and cutting after people make cuts on you.. but must continue find opening to cut... basically.. it will be no relax after receving cuts from your opponent.. also, must keep moving forward.. i think this is what i still don't know.. not theoretically, but practically... haha.. zanshin... yea, today i was told the same thing again... hmmm..... she said, don't tilt up your head after you cut.. try to look down.. it will help to stabilise your body... also, don't purposely push but the momentum when you step forward will automatically help your body to push forward and eventually the zanshin... okay.... i think i wouldn't be able to understand the power of momentum until i can really do the fumikomi thing properly... so, after today.. no more kendo for me for 3 weeks.. i will certainly miss kendo i think.. on the other hand, i can take this time to rest and let my left arm and left foot heal completely... haha.. good good..

after training.. i slept... to make up for the total 7 hours of sleeping time which i normally need for a day.. and then went out dinner at pitt st shinara to celebrate friends' birthday.. i think it's korean restaurant but apparently they serve shashimi and some other japanese food as well.. so.. i don't know... it was an expensive buffett meal.. each of us paid 40 dollars for the dinner plus a few dollars for the birthday cake.. not sure how much is it though.. and it then becomes my most expensive meal in sydney.. haha.. today really spent a lot.. more than 100... groceries... dinner... cakes... kendo stuffs.. aihhh.... but that's okay.. considering that i wouldn't be spending much in the next 3 weeks time anyway... it was a good night, to meet friends and catch up with them who i haven't seen for almost a month time.. the last time we gather together was last month.. for a friend's birthday.. and this time, same thing again.. we alwasy gather together to celebrate birthday together.. look like we can only meet up because of someone's birthday.. haha..
